Overview of an off-grid solar system

An off-grid solar system is also known as a standalone solar system. Why? Because it’s not connected to the grid. An off grid solar power plant is an intricate setup of the following components.

● Solar panels (modules)- to capture sunlight and generate electricity

● Mounting structures- to securely install and connect the system

● Batteries- to store excess energy for nighttime or cloudy days

● Solar charge controller- to regulate battery charging and prevent overcharging

● Solar inverter- to convert DC power into usable AC power

● Solar accessories- to securely install and connect the system

Some of the services that have set us apart from other vendors include the following.

● Complimentary Solar Consultation: Our experts provide free consultations to help you understand the best solar options for your property.

● Robust Mounting Structures: We use premium, prefabricated structures designed to withstand harsh conditions — including cyclonic winds up to 170 kmph.

● Quick & Easy Financing: Get loan approval in just 10 minutes, making your solar journey hassle-free.

● Comprehensive Maintenance: Every installation comes with a 5-year Maintenance to ensure long-term system performance.

FAQs

An on-grid solar system – as the name suggests -is directly connected to the electricity grid. It works with a net meter (bi-directional meter) that measures both the electricity your solar system exports to the grid during the day and the electricity you import when your system isn’t producing enough power.

The benefit of an on-grid system is that if you need more electricity than your solar system produces, you can use the electricity from the grid.

The operation of an on-grid solar system is simple and efficient. Here’s how it powers your home:

1. Solar panels capture sunlight and generate DC (Direct Current) electricity.

2. This DC power is sent to a solar inverter.

3. The inverter converts DC into AC (Alternating Current) — the form of electricity your appliances use.

4. AC power runs your home’s electrical devices during the day.

5. Excess electricity generated during the daytime is fed back into the grid through a net mete

6. At night, when the system isn’t producing electricity, your home draws power from the grid using the exported units, ensuring 24/7 availability.

The right solar system depends entirely on where you live and your electricity access:

If you live in a city with a stable electricity supply, an on-grid solar system is your best choice. It connects to the grid, offers net metering benefits, and significantly reduces your electricity bills.

If you’re in a rural or remote area without access to the power grid, an off-grid solar system is the ideal solution. It operates independently, providing reliable electricity day and night through battery storage.
